Race report by Ty Tessmann
We headed to Calgary, AB this weekend for the Rocky Mountain Meltdown Race, the weather was beautiful. Had a great weekend, I tq'd all 3 rounds of nitro buggy and started on pole for the main and was able to go on and take the win.

Congratulations to team mate Robert Bowers for tqing and winning Ebuggy.
Thanks to the RC Gears club of Calgary for putting on the event and the hospitality.

Thanks to all my sponsors for providing me with great equipment, thanks to my family for all their support, and thanks to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, without him I wouldn't be where I am today.

Race report by Robert Bowers
Was really happy with that position since we were the only heat that ran with no fresh water on the track. Second round was interesting as I made a few more mistakes but they started announcing me in last place in the heat. I didn't feel like I made that many mistakes and once the race was complete we realized there was a computer error where it didn't start the qualifying with staggered starts. The RD decision was a fair decision to rerun the heat after all other qualifying. To be continued....

The third round of qualifying was a fun battle!!! I started out making a few mistakes and really needed to settle myself down. The car felt on point but I had to drive better!! Carter started the round fast and smooth but towards the end of the 6 minute qualifier I found my groove again and started driving closer to the XRAY's capability!!! Ended up catching up for another win which locked up TQ!! Rerun of the second round was probably the closest battle and most fun round yet. Carter was leading the whole way but Jordan and I were close behind him. I tried a different compound in the switchblade and it didn't really fit my driving. Ended up 2nd by 0.8 seconds behind Carter. Starting on the pole position in the main was right where I wanted to be!!!

I knew it was going to be a tough race but the XRAY XB8E felt great through qualifying!!! It just kept getting easier to drive throughout each round and I was very confident it would feel it's best with the longer main. We had a nice clean start and Carter and I were pulling away for a few laps. Then I made my early run mistakes, Carter got by and I found myself in a battle with Jordan and Byron. I settled down again and worked on getting back to Carter. The kid was fast but I was slowly clawing him in!! 10 minutes just wasn't going to be enough though. Until...with less than one minute left, Carter had issues!!! With a lucky break I got by him and I made it to the line for an extra lap. Tough way for Carter too finish but that's another reason I'm super excited to be running such a reliable EBuggy!!!! XRAY for the win two weeks in a row!!!
